Manual Osteopathy

Manual Osteopathy works by mobilizing all aspects of the body: joints, tissues, fascia, fluids, viscera. It is a gentle, non-invasive approach that treats a variety of conditions causing dysfunction in the body.

Hands-on mobilization helps to release tight muscles, restrictions in joints to free nerves, blood vessels, lymph flow, and spinal fluid flow as well as blockages between organs. This freedom then allows the body’s natural healing processes to function properly.

Through gentle joint mobilizations, muscle re-coordinating techniques, visceral manipulations, cranial osteopathy and soft tissue techniques, your manual osteopath can support your body and help you achieve relief from pain and dysfunction.

At Kinetically Whole Therapies, we are lucky to have a robust team of manual osteopathic practitioners to support our Winnipeg clients.

What to Expect?

At your first appointment, your Manual Osteopath will work with you to determine your reason for booking the appointment and develop a treatment plan with you.

Follow-up appointments assess your progress, adjust the plan, and keep building on what’s working.

Other FAQs

What should I wear to my first appointment?

Come to your appointment wearing normal athletic gear. This can be a t-shirt or tank top and gym shorts or leggings.

Manual osteopathy is not covered under Manitoba Health. However, it’s included in many private extended health benefit plans, often under a paramedical or “osteopath” category — sometimes combined with services like chiropractic, massage, or naturopathic care under one annual maximum.

Because osteopathy isn’t a licensed profession in Manitoba, coverage can depend on which professional association your practitioner belongs to, so we’d recommend confirming with your provider before your first visit. We’re happy to provide a receipt for reimbursement. Please note that Canada Life does not cover our osteopathy services.
